All is well in Salta!

Thanks Dad I loved what you told me about the Savior and his mission and what Elder Holland said. Well I can sure say that this has been quite the journey with ups and downs twists and turns, but God helped me in these times where I felt myself having questions and all. Though I don´t know everything I don´t need to. Faith isn´t to have a perfect knowledge its to believe and at times we need to chose to believe. For insomuch as we experiment with these words and we let them stir within us they will start to grow and we will start gain more and more faith until we have a perfect knowledge!!

For a while here we have not been baptizing in the area but we are not going to get our hopes down. God asks us to do our part and to try our best and he will do the rest!! I also have learned a thing or two about REAL INTENT. Its so important that we really mean what we do!! You should read as a family in the Ensign REAL INTENT its in the newest and it is really awesome!! I know that when we do things in our lives with real intent and because we love God, we can accomplish ALL.

I am so happy to Read the Book of Mormon every day! It makes me happy to learn and to feel the spirit. Its so important that we keep on fortifying our testimony about The Book of Mormon, because it will help us always rely on it, and learn and be fortified in times that are hard!!

It is a pleasure living with the zone leaders they are awesome and are always trying to go the extra mile!! My companions a great friend and Elder Garret is an awesome friend and teacher too, and Elder Philpot is just awesome MOM I know you would just get the biggest kick out of him he is a great friend!!

I also want to say I love you to my brothers. Kaden you are awesome I always tell all of the families we talk to that you are awesome and you remind me of Nephi and Captain Moroni! Also you have always been my best friend along with Brennen, I am so happy to hear that you are continuing to serve the Lord in His mission. Its the Greatest thing you will ever do! You will love and enjoy it and Learn so much from it and most importantly you will help other families have Christ in their lives and families and help their families be forever!!

As for my cuddle buddy Brennen!! I know you are growing so fast and that you have matured so much, I also look up to you as an example you are always so kind and thoughtful towards everyone. You remind me of Nephi, although he was a younger brother, he was a grand example, and I know that all is there for you to gain and achieve in your life. Remember to continue making time each day to read the book of mormon and I promise that you will have so much joy in your life and that you will see all the changes that you want!! I love you so much Brennen!! :)

I hope you all have a wonderful week, mom you are the best! Thank you for showing me Christ in all that you do!! and Dad thank you for being an amazing example and for always loving and taking care of me like our Heavenly Father does to all his sheep!! I always brag about you guys!! Today I told another missionary about how my dad does the LOTOJA he is from Holland close to the Tour of France and was very impressed and said it was awesome!! :)

Love you guys!!

Hey Guys

Hello Everybody How are you all doing? This week has been incredible with a lot of awesome moments!!! Elder Jensen and I are here in the center of the city of Salta actually very close to where I was in my first area, and it is awesome because I have actually gotten to see a lot of the members of my first ward here in Argentina!! They are all doing great like always!!!

This week to start was awesome because we got to do a project with the whole stake and our zone, we got to go and clean up the hill of San Bernardo where there was a lot of trash that was built up. People just throw a lot of their trash out on the side of the road and we went and cleaned it all. It was a fun project we got dirty and we cleaned a lot of trash!! :)

This week we also had the opportunities to find some new families that we will be teaching and we are very excited about this!! :) It is a blast being with my old companion Elder Philpot and Elder Garret the zone leaders and my companion Elder Jensen!! We are always learning so much from them and having a blast!!

I know this week will be awesome, we are very excited!! :)

Until next week...

I am with my awesome companion Elder Jenson for another transfer and we are super excited. Also my old companion Elder Philpot and Elder Garret are in our apartment!!! This will be an amazing transfer!!

I'm sorry I couldn't write anything more inspiring but I love you guys and I hope you all have an awesome Week!!

chaucitos!!! :)

September 14, 2015

Heeeey ho´r yall doin? This week has been awesome!! Easily one of the best weeks I have ever had!! My companion (Elder Jensen) and I worked really hard to do our best and we had a lot of success and a lot of fun!! He is an awesome and an amazing missionary that has taught me a lot!!! We have not only been companions but great friends also!! :)

To begin with we committed 5 people to be baptized and we found 3 new people. We are Excited to say that these people are awesome and we hope that they will continue learning and wanting to have the restored Gospel so that it can change their lives!! Possibly the thing I love the most is to see how the gospel changes lives and saves marriages and families!! There are so many people out there that the Lord is preparing for us to go and teach, and as our president always says, NOW IS THE TIME TO HARVEST!! So don´t wait to share the gosple share it now! ¨for behold the field is white all ready for the harvest; for behold he the thrusteth in his sickle with his might the same layeth up in store in heaven¨ (D&C 4). And then there is the promise that if we open our mouths they shall be filled, not with food but with the words of God!! ;)

I am also so grateful for my brothers and your examples to me. I always tell the people how my brothers are The best brothers ever!!! I hope you guys have an awesome week! Always remember that the mission is the best decision I ever made!!

Well then to finish I want to send a shout out especially to my great Friends Elder Wilson, who's letters have helped me a lot in building my testimony and seeing the way that he is working!! Thanks man you're awesome!! And also for the great time this week when we had divisions with the zone leaders, and I had the wonderful opportunity to work with my old companion Elder Philpot who's example always helps me want to be a better missionary and develop more the characteristics of Christ!!

until next week!

September 7, 2015

This week was an interesting week we really tried to work our hardest in all that we did, we looked for people and we tried to show love for everyone. One thing that I have been really learning with Elder Jensen who is also one of my favorite companions. I have worked with, is the importance of helping others feel awesome. Haha what I mean by that is that we help them feel our love for them and we look for the good in them. We have seen many great thing happen when we compliment the people that we teach!!

This week we saw a miracle with the mom of a child we are teaching whose name is Jorge. Jorge is 11 years old and is really an awesome guy. Since he is 11 we had to go to his house to ask his mom permission if we could keep teaching him and eventually baptize him. So we get to the house and the mom answers the door and the first thing she said is "I'm Catholic and my Children are Catholic", which is never a good sign for missionaries who are trying to teach the Restored Gospel. We continued talking with her. We tried to explain about what we teach and how it blesses the lives of the people. Her heart was softend and said that we could teach her son and maybe she would go to church.

I want to finish by saying how much I love you guys, Brennen keep on being a great friend, look for the people you feel comfortable with that will help you keep your standards and keep treating everyone with kindness. I know that by that manner you will help a lot of people feel love and acceptance and you will also have fun on the journey.

I love you guys and I love the gospel that we have to bless our lives!! I hope that you all have a great week and continue to strengthen your testimony in our God, and our Savior Jesus Christ!!

August 31, 2015

Well This week went a lot better. We worked a lot with the members of the ward and were able to have some family home evenings!! I guess it has been a while since I have had the time to think about my day and analize everything. as you know the last week was hard but this week has been a lot better, we tried and worked better. I think that the journal has been something that I have been missing because with out it it is hard for me to reflect on the Day!! I continue trying to do my best and to learn from my mistakes!!

This week we had the chance to teach a guy named Jonatan Ramos who is a strong evangelista but we bore testimony and felt the spirit throughout the leccion and he for the first time opened up to us and he said that he felt like even though he had studied extensivly the bible he felt like he didn´t know God, We are going to help him and show him that God helps people, and that his church exists he said he felt something different during the leccion but couldn´t describe it!! :

I love you guys and I hope this week goes amazing for you!

Love you lots

Estoy Feliz en escribirles hoy!!(I am happy to be writing you!!) Today we had transfers and I am no longer in Jujuy!! It Was a wonderful time of growth and happiness and I will forever love the people from there!! They have helped me feel at home and have lightened my spirits! I wish the best success for the families that are there in Jujuy! really I have been blessed with the kindness and happiness I have received from those members.

Now I a back in Salta and this time with El Elder Jensen, from Saint George UT. He is great and I am excited for the opportunity that I have to work with him and to learn From him!! :) We are now in a very rich area and we are very excited to start the work!!! :)

That bit about Mate from mom made me laugh!! Mate is a drink that absolutely everyone drinks!! Its Dilicioso  literally this is the biggest country that drinks mate they even have statues of people drinking mate. The people always have a cup of mate!! I was actually drinking mate before I came to write!! I will have to send you some yerba for the cup!! :)

Anyways I want to say I love you guys and I hope you have a wonderful week enjoying every moment because we have the gospel we can have so much peace in this life!! :)

August 3, 2015

This week has been inspiring I can say like Kami Maxwell, that this week has been full of Difficult times and also great times!! A lot of times we have to take some time to observe the steps of our feet, and take a look at where we are going.

This week we had the wonderful opportunity to have interviews with the president of the mission. He said three things in particular that helped me feel great and more at peace. First he said that I have been a good missionary. Second that I can accomplish the goals I have in the mission. The other thing he said is that we always have the opportunity to help ourselves get excited about the mission and the work we do!!

I am excited and grateful for another year in the mission. I know I can do better in being outgoing and positive and in growing my testimony. I want to be a better person and become more like Christ, I will do what I can.

I love you guys so much. I will try to make this week even better.

July 27, 2015

This week was very awesome, full of prayer and fasting. I know that our Father in Heaven hears our prayers and that we have more potential then we think!! ;) Life is awesome in the mission it is so great to be able to serve and love the people here. At times we pass through trials but if we have the HOPE we can have the vision that all will work for our good in the end, if we keep the commandments!!

This week we put a better effort in the work and we saw some great progress in the people!! This week we  helped push a young couple to get married and they agreed that they were going to look into it!!  I am excited for them and all that is happening !! This next week will be an awesome week as well!!

I love yo u guys so much and I am learning a lot. I know that the Lord at times gives us weaknesses so that we can be more humble and learn, and At times  he can take away  the trial or sometimes his just helps us bare with more ease.

I hope you guys have an awesome week

Love you guys.

Kaden I hope you enjoy Japan!! you are awesome!! ;) take lots of pictures!!

7-20-15 A Great Week !

I am really blessed to have this time to be in the mission. I hope my brothers can understand the importance of the work we do here. Note to Kaden and Brennen, now is the time to prepare to serve. I know that bobby and daddy are already helping you guys develop the skills you will need physically, mentally and spiritually. Remember, in the mission, the Lord asks for all your heart, might, mind and strength!! D&C CH:4

I want you guys to know how merciful the Lord is with me and all of the people in Argentina, he is helping me to overcome barriers that I thought that maybe I couldn´t over come! This week satin tried to tempt us with a lot of distractions and lies. I have learned this is something he tries to do a lot. He tries to make you think that you cannot do things and he does it very convincingly. But we just need to catch ourselves, every time we say to ourselves that we are not good enough, and then we need to say we can!! Like Kami Maxwell says “we can with the Atonement”!!!

This week was great! It was full of finding new people, teaching lessons, being inspired, having all of the drunk people contact us, and having a family of investigators attend  church. Also we had two more which includes one investigator who had a lot of problems getting up in the morning. What a blessing !!! :)

I love you guys so much and I hope you all have a great week dad, bobby, Kaden, and Brennen!

Love you guys a ton,

Elder Sandberg

7- 13- 2015 Progress

How are you guys? This week was one of the most challenging weeks I have faced!! But never the less I feel good! :)

It started with the unexpected  operation of my companion. At 4 in the morning he asked me for a blessing! After I gave him the blessing we slept for a bout 30 min. Before going off the the hospital. It turns out that he had appendicitis and they had to operate. The good thing is I got to keep him company and we were able to look at the good in the situation. Before the operation I gave him another blessing and felt at peace. To clear things up, I waited what would be only a short time before the President of the Mission arrived with his wife and companioned me!

It was exciting. Instead of doing worse this week we actually had a better week and improved our numbers and we saw some good progress with our investigators. now Amalia has a date to be baptized she just needs to attend the church!! :P

We have been exceedingly blessed in these past days. We had to arrange everyday for someone to companion me and someone for my companion but we were able to do it!!

I was reminded of my family when we visited the family Viltes family this week. They are a very awesome family, They are united and I know that they are going to progress in their own time, right now only the Daughter is progressing but the life of the gospel is contagious. I know that the rest of the family will accept also!! :)

I Love you guys and I know that this week will be a great week!! Thanks for your advice about everything.

I wan´t you to know that I am alright That I know that the Lord will help me I have faith because he has helped me in many situations this week!! :)

Until next week!!

With all my love I am so grateful for the family I have!!

6-15-2015 late posting

This week was awesome we found a lot of new people in the poorest part of the city. we are trying the Alma and Amulek approach and we are looking in the more humble areas!

First we found a girl named Amalia and she is super awesome. We went and taught her and she listened and asked questions and then after, she was the first to say “OK when can you guys return?”. When we returned her sister Cintia was there, and then when we returned the last time there was the whole family and friends and we taught and testified with the spirit and invited them all to be baptized and they all said it sounds like an awesome idea, now we just need to put fixed dates to all of them.

We also found a family through a miracle, and they are very receptive and the mom said that we arrived at the perfect time!!

I know that God is directing his work and that He is preparing people everyday, and that He has a plan for all of us!! :)

In other news Walter and Mariana are doing awesome and received their patriarchal blessings.

Today we had fun playing fútbol and making skinny ties!!

Until next week!

Hello Everybody

This Week was awesome!! We worked hard and had success! We found 9 new people to teach and we are very happy about that!! We were inspired by a talk this week that Boyd K. Packer gave about talking to everyone. We really tried hard to talk to everyone. and as we passed one house in particular we were almost attacked by a bunch of dogs but a little boy called them off. We began to talk to him and we asked him if we could share a message with him and his family and he said ok. So we met his mom and his whole family and they are awesome really they are chosen. Later, while talking with the mom we found out that the last year was really hard for them, and the mom said really that we came at the perfect time!! We are happy to talk to them and to be teaching them. This week I know we will do even better.

Thanks for the package you guys sent me. I love the letters you guys wrote. They were really nice!! I love you guys so much I want to do the work of the Lord by genuinely loving the people and focusing on them I thought maybe that was something I had been missing. I want to do what the Lord wants me to do and I hope I can learn to be a better friend and more close to God.

Love you guys!

June 1st

Sorry I can’t send this week from my own account. There has been a problem with the system in all of South America and some of the people can log in and some others cannot. But the Iglesia says that they will resolve the problem as soon as they can. So today I will send from this account and then you can reply to my other account and I will be able to read it later!! :)

All is well here we didn´t have the best week with the work. We let a lot of little thing distract us and we didn´t work as hard as I would have liked to. At first I was a little discouraged but then I thought "isn´t this what the church is about giving us chances to change?" I know that it will take work and that It won´t be easy but I know that the Lord will help me as I put forth my effort.

I am very blessed to have a companion that wants to work hard. He is a good companion, I hope he doesn´t think bad of me for these first 2 weeks. I really want to put God first. We read the letter from  the president today and it was all about self discipline and being a disciple and how the words come from the same root which means student. He said that the apostles in the time of Jesus gave up everything to follow Christ.  And that the blessings for following Christ far out weigh the sacrifices.

I know that every person in the church has an impact and that we all have different rolls. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he wants the best for us and that its never to late to change (before the second coming of Christ) but rather the perfect time to change is now!

I love you guys so much and will let you know what happens this week. And this night I will receive your package. Love you guys so much!

Until next week,

Elder Sandberg

April 20th 2015

I love you guys. Thanks for your encouragement as always. I have really been trying to become a better person, more like Christ. If there is one thing that I have learned this week is that our Father in Heaven is all loving and He is always looking out for us.

Today I want to let you know that things are getting better. I am trying to learn how to enjoy.. I know that there are people out there I need to help and love and I hope I can gain the humility to help them.

I love you so much family I don´t think there are words to describe how much I love you.

I hope you guys have the best week!!

Kaden keep on going your awesome. and I am so proud to have you as my brother. and Brennen I am so proud to have you as my brother as well.

Until next week.

Have the best week ever!! :)

Hi Everyone!

I know that you said that there would be a lot of ups and downs. I am just trying to do my best like you said and try harder and harder every day.

On the bright side we got to see the baptism of Walter and Mariana after a lot of time and they are so awesome really an amazing family and they have been through their ups and downs and have overcome these things. We are so happy for them for their marriage and their baptism.

There are a lot of good things happening. We have the baptism of Pablo coming up next, and we are very excited for this it should be great.

Right now we need to find new people and I have a great desire to work hard in contacting lots of people.

I have to express my feelings because I know that Satanas is trying hard to get me discouraged... and I just want to love the people and enjoy the mission so I will try to do all that I can to stay positive and keep studying the scriptures.

I love you guys a lot, I cannot lie this time is a bit challenging. I know that I can do better and help others. It is essential that I stay happy and bring out the sense of humor inside or else I will not help anybody. I know that my Father In Heaven loves me. I know that good days are to come, because the future is as bright as your Faith!!

I love you guys so much What ever challenges you may be facing know that you can not only survive but you can thrive!! Always remember that Jesu Cristo knows how you feel, and suffered for you because he loves you.

Time will be even better this week. I know it!! I will be fasting for help and guidance tomorrow!

Until next week!! :)

Este Semana

This week we found a couple of new people that could be potential chosen investigators! First of all, we had Pablo who is 11 years old (like Brennen) and is awesome!! He is also, like brennen, really smart!! We are teaching him with his aunt who is a recent convert!! and she is helping a lot!

Next we have Walter and Mariana who are awesome! They are a young couple who have both had rough lives, but are awesome. They have been making a lot of amazing changes in their lives and now they are going to get married and be baptized!! They have two little boys one is turning 2 today and the other is turning 3 next Tuesday!

After that we are still teaching a couple Hebe y Rafael, Rafael is 25 and Hebe is around 50. It is a little bit interesting, but they say that they really care for each other... some of the time and other times it seems like they have problems cause Rafael is a man of few words. They need to either get married or separate, to be baptized and It looks like they will be submitting papers to be married. So I will keep you updated on that!

Next we are teaching 2 girls Dañela and Eliana and they were actually dating for 3 years, but we taught the the law of chastity and we told the that they should pray about it! Also Dañela especially has a testimony of el Libro de Mormón. So this will be a test of there testimony. Despite everything they were actually progressing a little. But I will let you know what happens!

Thanks for all of your love and support I am so happy for the time here I have to represent the Lord and to work in His vineyard!!

Until next week…

Love,

Elder Sandberg

Jujuy!

I am really sorry about not writing last week. It pained me, but we could not find a cyber that was not filled last Monday. I wanted to write you so bad!!! I always feel inspired by your letters!!

To conclude about last the last translado(transfer)… it was amazing! Elder Philpot will always be my friend and example!! I feel Like I have grown so much with his example for me!!

Now I am out of small town Pichanal and into the big city of Jujuy!!!!! :) I am super excited for my area and I know that we will have a lot of success! I am so excited to see what I can give to the people here!!

I want to say how much I love you guys and how much you guys are my ejemplos(examples). This week I am still reading about the missionary work and the sons of Mosiah. What great examples they are of men who were OBEDIENT AND DILIGENT. I am working hard to develop these attributes of Christ!

And It looks like this translado (transfer) will be a trying one. Despite this I am inspired by my God. I know that I need to love and help my companion because the missionary work can’t be done solo!!  I will pray and fast for him and try to get him excited to go out and serve with total diligencia (diligence)!

I love you all and I am thankful for all of your prayers for me! I am thankful for this gospel I will pray for you all I know that my God is with me!!

I will update you later with more information about my amazing time that I have been having!

Love you,

Elder Sandberg

And Kaden, A tip for you Is try imagining that your Father in Heaven is right in front of you. Reading the scriptures everyday will also help and meditating about the answers. Read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it Is true! I love you so much Kaden words cannot describe!! (This was a response to Kaden asking how he could make his prayers more meaningful)

Let there be a wedding! February 2nd's Message

¿Hola como estáis vosotros? To answer your questions Mom about if people think we look alike, yes there are some people that ask if we are brothers. And yes I have an accent and also my grammar is not that good at times. My compañion can speak very well and people always say ok your companion’s grammar is good but you “falt” a little bit. (Faltar is the Spanish verb meaning to lack. Falt is the americanized missionary slang meaning to lack or lacking) But that doesn’t bother me because I know that in time I will study and master the language. I am praying for the gift of tongues everyday!

It sounds like everything at home is going well!! I am doing well out here just always trying to improve and to be more focused in the work!! I know that the difficult times will pass. I am trying to pray and trust in the Lord to guide me and at the same time take responsabilidad. Also I am trying to learn how to let go and have fun more.

I am not going to lie today I am pretty tired and I feel a little bit mas o menos. But I know the Lord will help me through these times.

But this week was really good. We had lots of miracles happen and for this I am very grateful. Including a family who is very prepared we love them lots and this week they were able to get married so now they can be baptized!!

I love you so much Mom and Dad I hope you guys have the best week!

Pichanal in the rain

Hello how are you guys doing? What Awesome and exciting things are you up to? To start this Email I want to reply to the questions of my Dad and Kaden. I´ll start with dad. I like your idea about sharing a scriptural story about young men who were called on at a young age! Also in Predicad Mi Evangelio (Preach My Gospel) it talks about extending promises in chapter 11. Remember to read that if you get a chance. Some of the most powerful things you can do to invite the spirit are bearing testimony, sharing a personal experience, or promising blessings, or sharing your personal love for God and them.

For Kaden the thing I would advise for you is to read in Preach My Gospel about the Christlike attribute of diligence and also humildad(humility). I know that these will have an impact on you and if you apply these things in your life it will help you be more proactive with your time and also it will help you enjoy your time more.

To end this letter I want to tell you about the success we had this week, first of all we had the opportunity to do a service project for a woman named Aldana. We helped waterproof her wooden house. We had many investigators in the church this week, including brother Pedro Dias and a bright and excited Raul and his soon to be wife and their three kids.

We had many good things happen as we felt satan working hard to discourage us in the difficult times. But in the end we continued and had a lot of success. I know that next week there is more success to be had!!

As we remember that we show our love to the Lord by keeping His commandments and also making good decisions and being thankful for what we have, the Lord will support us and help us to focus on others and to work our hardest!

I love you guys so much! I hope you all can feel my love but more importantly that of the Savior and His atoning sacrifice.

Until the next week,

Hola mis amados amigos y familia

I am the happiest I have ever been in my life!!!!!! I really don't even know where to start!! Elder Philpot is a stud!!  We get along really well, and I am excited for this week!! I am going to start taking more photos now!

This week we saw the hand of the Lord in our work "A Full" First with a familia who are called Del Zotto, its Raul, Mirian and their 3 children!! Raul and his family are so prepared for this message. He has already accepted a date to be baptized!! We had a lesson and the spirit was amazingly strong!! They all comprehend really well the lessons and concepts and are applying our teachings in their lives!! We also met a man whose name is Pedro Dias and he accepted a date of baptism also!!! As far as the work goes in this area we are trying our hardest to be obedientes and diligent and work will all of our mind soul and strength. rain or shine!!

This week it rained a crazy amount! The roads were rivers!! We found some gumboots and we started to walk and visit houses it was very fun! We walk fast, work hard, and come home exhausted, but we are having a good time!!

Also we have this awesome member who is called Miguel he is about 50 years old but has the mentality of someone who has 8 years. He asked me the other week if it snows in the United States like it does in Narnia!

I love you guys and I hope that this week was an awesome week for you!
I cant wait to hear more from your lives it brings me joy to hear from you!!
Thank you for all of your encouragement!! If there is anything you want to know send me an email and I will try to include it in my weekly letter!! :)

Aloha!

Hi guys, I just want to say how grateful I am for the opportunity I have had to know you guys and also that I have had in the mission. I feel like my Father in Heaven really has helped me all the way!! I know that he really answers our prayers when we pray with Faith, but to have Faith is to act with total diligencia also.

Today my Portainio companion de Buenos Aires went home at 4 in the morning and now I am with Elder Philpot from Arizona. We get along great and we both have great desires to serve the Lord and to work with total diligencia! He also has really good study ethics so I am excited to learn from him! He has 8 months in the mission. We are Ready to have an amazing translado! (transfer)

I am so grateful for the gift of agency, and the power to learn how to work with the Spirit and the Lord!! I know that The Spirit is the key to missionary work without the spirit we are just a bunch of young men who don't know how to speak Castellano!

I am grateful for your inspiring stories of your lives and all that is happening. I tell you guys this particularly because I can see that you are all involved in worth while things and It makes me happy to know that all is going well!!

I am short on time today the internet was really slow. but I want to say thanks you guys and I am looking forward to next week when I can let you know even more!!

Have the best week,

Elder Sandberg
