January 25, 2016

This week has been a week of learning and of feeling the Spirit and following His impressions. We had a world wide training Wednesday and a conference with Elder Kronoselskey. It was amazing we felt the Spirit a lot and we were able to learn and to laugh also because he and his wife are very funny and spiritual. :)

I want to let you know that I am very happy as a missionary and that I am loving talking to people and serving the people here. We have be finding a lot of people to serve and a lot of opportunities to share the gospel with the people!! :)

This week we have been having a great time and have been having a lot of great experiences. And this week Mario is going to get baptized. We are so excited for him he is great and has overcome a lot of difficulties!! :)

In other great news today I got to eat some great food from Ecuador (my companion is a great cook :) and I’m getting a lot better in futbal and feeling my Spanish blood coming out!! :) We are organizing the apartment and trying to keep it spick and clean.

Some good but funny news is that we had a great family home evening with some members who are bodybuilders and a they are girls!!! When we arrived we wished we had brought long sleeves because they are more buff than we are. They have won competitions in Europe and in South America, but we did have a very great lesson!! :)

I hope you all have a wonderful week!! :)

This week went well I was able to work with my "son" in the mission Elder Alava, We were able to accomplish a lot, although we had one investigator who said that she was afraid of what her family would say and so she said that this would be the last meeting with her. We testified of the truth of the gospel and we invited her to pray about the Book of Mormon so that she could see for herself that all that we are sharing with her is true!! She is really great and we hope that she really does pray!! :)

About the backpack sister Chaparro said that backpacks in the mission are usually not preferable they always tell the missionaries to have a bag like I have instead of a backpack. But she talked about how there are some bags that have a strap for the waist so I´m not sure how that works but if you found one that would be great!! I’m not sure there are a lot of people who have backpacks but she said that the standard is to have a bag!

I really actually feel comfortable with the bag I have for now I adjusted it so that it is a lot better!! I will let you know if it starts to bug me another time!!  How does that sound?

And I am so happy that you guys are going to start the challenge. I know that it will bless your lives!! :) This week I was able to read a lot about Abinadi and King Noah, and I like this story a lot  because it show the courage that Abinadi had to stand up to the king and even be a martyr for what he believed in. It’s a little like our lives we can be like Abinadi and always stand up for what we believe in!

I loved hearing the story about how dad could share the gospel I think that its so great and It made me really happy!! :)

This week we were walking through a park and some people yelled “Hey Elders”, and we went to talk to them. It turned out to be an awesome family that was just enjoying some time together they were not members and had a lot of questions about who we were and why we are here. We happily replied and explained about what we believe and why we are here. This week we will have the opportunity to visit them.

We also had a great experience when I felt the spirit strongly and knocked on a door and found a great family.

Love you guys so much keep on being awesome!! :)

Have a Great week

Hasta la Proxima!! :)

December 28, 2015

Thanks for everything. I really enjoyed talking to you guys and seeing your faces!! I know that you are all doing so well with your lives and It makes me happy to hear that my brothers, and my cousins are preparing to serve missions.

Something that I have been learning in the mission is the importance of consecrating all of our time, energy and might, mind and strength. In Alma 4 it talks about how we gave up his judicial seat or you could say, his work and his hobbies, his comfort, and he went to share the gospel!!! When we are consecrated we don´t think about what others would think about us, we care about what God thinks of us!!!

Now, we don’t even have to be in the mission to consecrate our selves. This week I learned while reading the Book of Mormon that God wants to gather his people and he will do it through his servants!!

Love you

I don’t know if you sent me a weekly letter but things have been really crazy from here in Salta with a lot of changes!! First of all we had Elder Scott visit us here in Salta and It was amazing he talked about many things that inspired us and bore testimony of the Savior. It was amazing!!:)

Second Élder Jenson was sent to another area that needed him, and now I am with a MINI Missionary. He is 21 and is preparing to serve a mission. His story inspires me he comes from a very humble situation. He is the only member of his family and only has been a member for less then a year. Also he lives with his brothers because his mom recently died and he does not have a dad!! He is a grand person and I thank God because I can serve with him and love him!! I Hope I can inspire him, although he has plenty of inspiration and energy!! :)

Third, we are teaching a woman named Alicia, and she is progressing. We hope she will find her way to the waters of baptism soon.. :)

With all of the love and contentment.

We received roses from some of the people in the ward and the rose I got was one that said Feliz dia de la madre Mamita which translated means Happy Mothers Day Little Mama!! I thought it was very funny!!  It reminded me of you!! This week has been great we have been trying to find ways to work more effectively I am now district leader!! and I am excited for the new opportunity to serve!!

In other funny news this week we saw a guy who was about 40 who was a little bit chubby and balding with a shirt that said ´´you can´t stop this game´´ it was funny! we are exited and trying to work our hardest and best and enjoy the ride!! :) I love you guys so much and I hope to write you more when I write next week!! :) Have an awesome week!! Well this week was just awesome. My companion and I work a full!!!! to find new people and to follow the spirit!!!

One thing that I am really learning is the importance of having the Spirit and following the impressions of It. There is no other way to live this life If we don´t listen to the Spirit we cannot have success. For that reason I want to challenge all of you guys to follow me in a a short exercise this week. I will be recording all of the impressions I receive in my journal at the end of the day. The goal that we can be more attentive to the whisperings of the Spirit, and that we can follow these impressions with exactness!!:) I´m Stoked!!! :)

In other news my compañero and I are having an awesome time teaching the Family Fernandez! Haha everyday my companion and I are laughing there are a lot of great things happening.  There are a lot of Dogs that follow us around. I never had a dog as a kid But if feel like I have like 100 dogs here in the mission. Brennen If you get called to South America you will meet so many Dogs!! :)

Its still a blast to live with four companions, I feel like we are in the movie The Best Two Years at times!! :D If you arrive a little bit tardy you receive ¨"Malo Slaps" So watch out!! :) all is good laughing and joking around and working hard!! Well have an awesome week. We sure will down here in the lowest set country in the Americas!!

Hasta la Proxima!! :)

Message from October 19, 2015

Hey how’s everything going? The earthquake was awesome I have never been in a earthquake but it was pretty cool to see everything shake!! :) It’s awesome here in La Loma my companion and I are learning all sorts of great things about the work, we are improving to be a lot more effective and although we have not had a baptism in a while we are not getting down but we are trying to be the most obedient and hardworking missionaries that we can!!

One of the families that we are teaching is just super fun. They are great and at first the papa said that he wasn’t going to let his family get baptized but now it looks like he’s chilling out a lot!! We are also excited because we found a new FAMILY!!!! WOOOOOO! They seem really great as well, and we are excited to teach them!!!

The work is great and the gospel is true

Hope ya´ll have an awesome week

Love you Kaden and Brennen. keep on working hard reading the scriptures and being awesome!!

All is well in Salta!

Thanks Dad I loved what you told me about the Savior and his mission and what Elder Holland said. Well I can sure say that this has been quite the journey with ups and downs twists and turns, but God helped me in these times where I felt myself having questions and all. Though I don´t know everything I don´t need to. Faith isn´t to have a perfect knowledge its to believe and at times we need to chose to believe. For insomuch as we experiment with these words and we let them stir within us they will start to grow and we will start gain more and more faith until we have a perfect knowledge!!

For a while here we have not been baptizing in the area but we are not going to get our hopes down. God asks us to do our part and to try our best and he will do the rest!! I also have learned a thing or two about REAL INTENT. Its so important that we really mean what we do!! You should read as a family in the Ensign REAL INTENT its in the newest and it is really awesome!! I know that when we do things in our lives with real intent and because we love God, we can accomplish ALL.

I am so happy to Read the Book of Mormon every day! It makes me happy to learn and to feel the spirit. Its so important that we keep on fortifying our testimony about The Book of Mormon, because it will help us always rely on it, and learn and be fortified in times that are hard!!

It is a pleasure living with the zone leaders they are awesome and are always trying to go the extra mile!! My companions a great friend and Elder Garret is an awesome friend and teacher too, and Elder Philpot is just awesome MOM I know you would just get the biggest kick out of him he is a great friend!!

I also want to say I love you to my brothers. Kaden you are awesome I always tell all of the families we talk to that you are awesome and you remind me of Nephi and Captain Moroni! Also you have always been my best friend along with Brennen, I am so happy to hear that you are continuing to serve the Lord in His mission. Its the Greatest thing you will ever do! You will love and enjoy it and Learn so much from it and most importantly you will help other families have Christ in their lives and families and help their families be forever!!

As for my cuddle buddy Brennen!! I know you are growing so fast and that you have matured so much, I also look up to you as an example you are always so kind and thoughtful towards everyone. You remind me of Nephi, although he was a younger brother, he was a grand example, and I know that all is there for you to gain and achieve in your life. Remember to continue making time each day to read the book of mormon and I promise that you will have so much joy in your life and that you will see all the changes that you want!! I love you so much Brennen!! :)

I hope you all have a wonderful week, mom you are the best! Thank you for showing me Christ in all that you do!! and Dad thank you for being an amazing example and for always loving and taking care of me like our Heavenly Father does to all his sheep!! I always brag about you guys!! Today I told another missionary about how my dad does the LOTOJA he is from Holland close to the Tour of France and was very impressed and said it was awesome!! :)

Love you guys!!

Hey Guys

Hello Everybody How are you all doing? This week has been incredible with a lot of awesome moments!!! Elder Jensen and I are here in the center of the city of Salta actually very close to where I was in my first area, and it is awesome because I have actually gotten to see a lot of the members of my first ward here in Argentina!! They are all doing great like always!!!

This week to start was awesome because we got to do a project with the whole stake and our zone, we got to go and clean up the hill of San Bernardo where there was a lot of trash that was built up. People just throw a lot of their trash out on the side of the road and we went and cleaned it all. It was a fun project we got dirty and we cleaned a lot of trash!! :)

This week we also had the opportunities to find some new families that we will be teaching and we are very excited about this!! :) It is a blast being with my old companion Elder Philpot and Elder Garret the zone leaders and my companion Elder Jensen!! We are always learning so much from them and having a blast!!

I know this week will be awesome, we are very excited!! :)

Until next week...

I am with my awesome companion Elder Jenson for another transfer and we are super excited. Also my old companion Elder Philpot and Elder Garret are in our apartment!!! This will be an amazing transfer!!

I'm sorry I couldn't write anything more inspiring but I love you guys and I hope you all have an awesome Week!!

September 14, 2015

Heeeey ho´r yall doin? This week has been awesome!! Easily one of the best weeks I have ever had!! My companion (Elder Jensen) and I worked really hard to do our best and we had a lot of success and a lot of fun!! He is an awesome and an amazing missionary that has taught me a lot!!! We have not only been companions but great friends also!! :)

To begin with we committed 5 people to be baptized and we found 3 new people. We are Excited to say that these people are awesome and we hope that they will continue learning and wanting to have the restored Gospel so that it can change their lives!! Possibly the thing I love the most is to see how the gospel changes lives and saves marriages and families!! There are so many people out there that the Lord is preparing for us to go and teach, and as our president always says, NOW IS THE TIME TO HARVEST!! So don´t wait to share the gosple share it now! ¨for behold the field is white all ready for the harvest; for behold he the thrusteth in his sickle with his might the same layeth up in store in heaven¨ (D&C 4). And then there is the promise that if we open our mouths they shall be filled, not with food but with the words of God!! ;)

I am also so grateful for my brothers and your examples to me. I always tell the people how my brothers are The best brothers ever!!! I hope you guys have an awesome week! Always remember that the mission is the best decision I ever made!!

Well then to finish I want to send a shout out especially to my great Friends Elder Wilson, who's letters have helped me a lot in building my testimony and seeing the way that he is working!! Thanks man you're awesome!! And also for the great time this week when we had divisions with the zone leaders, and I had the wonderful opportunity to work with my old companion Elder Philpot who's example always helps me want to be a better missionary and develop more the characteristics of Christ!!

until next week!

This week was an interesting week we really tried to work our hardest in all that we did, we looked for people and we tried to show love for everyone. One thing that I have been really learning with Elder Jensen who is also one of my favorite companions. I have worked with, is the importance of helping others feel awesome. Haha what I mean by that is that we help them feel our love for them and we look for the good in them. We have seen many great thing happen when we compliment the people that we teach!!

This week we saw a miracle with the mom of a child we are teaching whose name is Jorge. Jorge is 11 years old and is really an awesome guy. Since he is 11 we had to go to his house to ask his mom permission if we could keep teaching him and eventually baptize him. So we get to the house and the mom answers the door and the first thing she said is "I'm Catholic and my Children are Catholic", which is never a good sign for missionaries who are trying to teach the Restored Gospel. We continued talking with her. We tried to explain about what we teach and how it blesses the lives of the people. Her heart was softend and said that we could teach her son and maybe she would go to church.

I want to finish by saying how much I love you guys, Brennen keep on being a great friend, look for the people you feel comfortable with that will help you keep your standards and keep treating everyone with kindness. I know that by that manner you will help a lot of people feel love and acceptance and you will also have fun on the journey.

I love you guys and I love the gospel that we have to bless our lives!! I hope that you all have a great week and continue to strengthen your testimony in our God, and our Savior Jesus Christ!!

August 31, 2015

Well This week went a lot better. We worked a lot with the members of the ward and were able to have some family home evenings!! I guess it has been a while since I have had the time to think about my day and analize everything. as you know the last week was hard but this week has been a lot better, we tried and worked better. I think that the journal has been something that I have been missing because with out it it is hard for me to reflect on the Day!! I continue trying to do my best and to learn from my mistakes!!

This week we had the chance to teach a guy named Jonatan Ramos who is a strong evangelista but we bore testimony and felt the spirit throughout the leccion and he for the first time opened up to us and he said that he felt like even though he had studied extensivly the bible he felt like he didn´t know God, We are going to help him and show him that God helps people, and that his church exists he said he felt something different during the leccion but couldn´t describe it!! :

I love you guys and I hope this week goes amazing for you!

Love you lots
